History of AQHA

Since 1940, the American Quarter Horse Association has been paving a way for passionate horseman and horsewomen to come together in the name of the American Quarter horse for the breed's preservation, celebration, and advancement.

Pick a horse and bet him to win (finish first), place (finish second) or show (finish third). This is a $2 base bet, and you can certainly bet more if you'd like. You can also bet the horse "across the board," meaning you have him to win, place and show — which is a $6 bet on a $2 base bet.

The Los Alamitos Race Course features live Quarter Horse, Arabian, harness and thoroughbred racing and wagering Friday through Sunday nights. Admission is only $3 and general parking is free.

Burgart's Sports Bar is open Saturday and Sunday, while the Vessels Club is open on weekends. The grandstand building is open daily.
